Boba Tea in Sunnyvale
Blossom's Regular Boba Tea line is the tea-forward side of the boba menu: five brewed teas, served cold, that you dress yourself with toppings, sweetness and ice. Unlike the milk teas these are built on the tea itself — oolong, jasmine green and roasted green — so the flavor is lighter and more aromatic. Each one is made when you order it, and the cafe is open late (until midnight Thursday through Sunday), which makes this the late-evening boba stop on Murphy Ave.
The Flavors on the Ordering Page
- Osmanthus Oolong Tea — oolong scented with osmanthus flower, sweet and apricot-like in aroma; the most floral of the five and the one to try first if you like jasmine teas.
- Jasmine Green Tea — green tea scented with jasmine; the classic base for a light, floral boba.
- White Grape Oolong Tea — oolong with a white-grape note, fruity without being a fruit tea.
- Hojicha Roasted Green Tea — roasted Japanese green tea, toasty and low in bitterness, with less caffeine than an unroasted green tea; grass jelly suits it.
- Peach Oolong Tea — oolong with peach, the sweetest-reading of the five.
Pairs Well With
Street food goes well with a cold tea: Samosa Chaat, Sev Puri or Pani Puri. For dessert, Bingsu shaved ice is the natural match. If you want it creamier, the same five teas appear as Milk Teas.
